OSU Hoops: Cowboys Hosting Blue-Chip Prospect Latrell Allmond This Weekend
Allmond could be the highest-ranked recruit the Cowboys have visiting this fall.
The Cowboys will have a potential McDonald’s All-American on campus this weekend.
Latrell Allmond is set to make his official visit to Oklahoma State. A 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward, Allmond is ranked as highly as the No. 26 player in the 2026 recruiting class, with 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN all listing Allmond inside their top 35 prospects for the class. He’s the highest-rated player with an official visit scheduled to OSU thus far this fall.
What makes Allmond all the more intriguing is that he projects to a position (power forward) where OSU is going to need some help come next season, as Robert Jennings II and Christian Coleman are both seniors entering this upcoming season. So, if the Cowboys could secure Allmond’s commitment, he could be on the floor early for the Pokes.
Allmond is set to play his senior season at Petersburg High School in Richmond, Virginia, but spent his first three seasons of high school ball at John Marshall in Richmond. His high school coach, Ty White, went from John Marshall to Petersburg, as well.
As a junior at John Marshall last season, Allmond averaged 21.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.3 blocks a game while shooting 66% from the field and going 42-for-96 (44%) on 3-point attempts. Allmond scored at least 20 points in 13 of the 26 games he took part in and scored at least 30 in four contest. He dropped a season-high 43 in a game against Arcadia, where he went 18-for-24 from the field and 2-for-3 from 3-point range.
He led John Marshall to a state title and was the Virginia Class 2 state player of the year.
Allmond played his AAU ball this summer with Team Loaded in Adidas’ 3SSB league. In 3SSB play, he averaged 14.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.6 blocks a game.
Allmond visited Indiana in summer and checked out Tennessee last weekend. He’ll visit Virginia next weekend. Along with those offers, he has also been offered by Florida State, Kansas, LSU, Michigan, Kansas, Miami and others.
