Former Four-Star Defensive Lineman Michael Riles to Enter Transfer Portal
Riles was one of the Cowboys’ top 2025 recruits.
One of the top recruits from the Cowboys’ 2025 class announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal.
Michael Riles, the second-highest rated recruit in Oklahoma State’s 2025 recruiting class, took to X on Sunday to announce that he’ll enter the portal. Riles hasn’t played this season. He was on the Cowboys’ initial player availability report that dropped last week, meaning he has likely been injured.
Riles was the No. 557 player in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. He initially chose Oklahoma State over offers from Florida, Texas A&M, Texas, Nebraska, USC and others.
He played at Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas. Riles tallied 38 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 15 sacks as a senior.
Riles is the latest of a handful of Pokes to announce intentions to enter the portal, something that is possible for OSU players because Mike Gundy’s firing opened a 30-day window. Reports have surfaced since Gundy’s firing of David Kabongo (S), Dylan Smith (S), DeAndre Boykins (S) and Shea Freibaum (LS) doing the same.
The Cowboys are 1-4 this season following Saturday’s 41-13 loss to Arizona in Tucson. They return home Saturday for a game against Houston at 11 a.m. The game will be televised on TNT.
