Among the OSU donors and alumni I speak with, Golesh seems to be the heavy favorite of the presumed Cowboy candidates…

 

This was a response from a very connected college football person: “More than likely, you’re seeing recruiting activity because OSU found their coach. OSU is sharing that information with recruits, but they’re not ready to announce it yet.” [TulsaWorld]

It shouldn’t be a coincidence that these two “top” candidates have some of college football’s best offenses.

• Couple of Pokes got boosts in their rankings after the National Duals Invitational (PFB)

• Couldn’t agree more with Marshall Scott here that it feels like any of the rumored names for the job feel like good fits. With that being said, coordinators hired feel like they’ll impact how the hire is received too.

Just about anywhere you listen or read has had some combination of the same group of potential OSU candidates for some time now: Alex Golesh, Eric Morris, Collin Klein and Zac Robinson (and more recently Kane Wommack). You could make a case for any of those guys based on what you think is important. [PFB]
