STILLWATER — Former Cowboy Josh Ford appears to be headed to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to play for the Crimson Tide, according to reports from On3’s Pete Nakos.
Ford, a Stillwater native, entered the transfer portal after the first four games this season, which allowed him to maintain three years of eligibility.
Through his short tenure as a Cowboy, Ford dominated the tight end position, serving as the top option through his 16 games with the team despite battling with more experienced transfer options both seasons.
Ford finished 2024 with 10 catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. That placed him top seven on the team in both receptions and receiving yards.
Through four games this fall, Ford averaged a 61% snap share on the team, putting him second among non-quarterback skill players at the time and almost 40% ahead of the next closest tight end. He caught three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown in those four games.
He finished his OSU career with 13 receptions, 137 yards and two touchdowns.
