TRANSFER PORTAL TRACKER

A solid, young offensive lineman who gained experience in 2025 is the latest Cowboy to enter the transfer portal.

Nuku Mafi took to X on Wednesday to announce he is portal bound. Mafi started all 12 of OSU’s games at tackle this season as a redshirt freshman — starting on the right side before an injury to Markell Samuel had him flip to left tackle.

“First and foremost I just want to thank heavenly father for the many blessings he has blessed me in my life,” Mafi wrote. “To Oklahoma State I just want to thank you for all you have done for me and my family. I also want to express my greatest gratitude to Coach (Mike) Gundy who has played a big part in not only football but in life.”

Listed at 6-foot-4, 325 pounds, Mafi played 755 offensive snaps this past season, which was the second-most of any Cowboy trailing only Bob Schick. According to PFF, Mafi allowed three sacks and 14 hurries in 416 pass-blocking snaps.

“He is very athletic and he’s got enough length to satisfy the edge,” said interim coach Doug Meacham of Mafi in November. “There’s a lot of guys with length but can’t move. … He’s got movement skills and twitch and punch. You’d think playing those guys even if they are not totally ready, it’s gonna expediate the curve and make them better as they go. Him being a backup, he’s not going to get good quick enough. Him playing, he’s going to learn from his mistakes and get good because he has great movement skills. He is a good football player and it means a lot to him.”

He was a three-star prospect out of Rose Park, Utah, playing at West High School in Salt Lake City. He chose OSU over offers from BYU, Arizona State, Arizona, Tennessee, Nebraska, Utah and others.

The Cowboys are nearly at 30 portal entries since Mike Gundy’s firing back in September. Mafi joins Samuel, Grant Seagren, Noah McKinney and others as OSU O-linemen to hop in.
