Oklahoma State Linebacker Jacobi Oliphant Enters Transfer Portal
On second thought, Oliphant will portal.
On second thought, Jacobi Oliphant Jr. is going to hit the portal.
After alluding to an Oklahoma State return earlier this week, Oliphant took to X Friday to announce that he will enter the portal.
“I want to thank Coach (Mike) Gundy and every coach that has coached me at this great school for the past two years,” Oliphant wrote. “Thank you for the experience and the development but with that I will be entering my name into the transfer portal with three years of eligibility. I would like to thank everyone who cheered for me and I could bring joy to as I played the game. Thank you all for the great experience but I’m on to the next.”
Oliphant got to OSU ahead of the 2024 season as a big-bodied defensive back before making the move to linebacker this season. He took a redshirt in 2024 but did record a tackle against Texas Tech.
He had 26 tackles in 2025, including two sacks.
New Oklahoma State linebacker coach Reggie Johnson, like the rest of OSU’s new staff, has his work cut out for him this portal window. Bryan McCoy and Brandon Rawls both finished out their eligibility with OSU this past season. Meanwhile, Oliphant adds to a list of Cowboy linebackers who hit the portal, joining Poasa Utu, Ike Esonwune and others.
With that said, the Cowboys have already been swimming in the linebacker waters on this first day of the portal window. Guys like D-II All-American Tristan Exline, Arizona State transfer Tate Romney and Kentucky transfer Landyn Watson are portal linebackers who have had OSU-related reports come out Friday.
