Report: Tulsa Coach Tre Lamb Tells Tulsa Crowd ‘We’ll Beat Their A– Again’ in Reference to OSU
Tulsa beat OSU 19-12 in Lamb’s first season.
An Oklahoma State team with an entirely new coaching staff and 81 new players might’ve not had much motivation to avenge last season’s team, but now the new-look Cowboys might.
According to Tulsa World‘s Bill Haisten, Tulsa coach Tre Lamb took to microphone at halftime of TU’s basketball game on Wednesday night and proclaimed “We’ll beat their ass again,” in reference to the Golden Hurricane’s Sept. 5 season-opener against Oklahoma State.

Tulsa beat Oklahoma State 19-12 in Stillwater last season in what ended up being Mike Gundy’s final game as the Cowboys’ coach.
The 2025 season was Lamb’s first as Tulsa’s coach, with the Golden Hurricane going 4-8 with wins against Abilene Christian, Oklahoma State, Oregon State and Army. Tulsa was 1-7 in American Conference play and didn’t play new OSU coach Eric Morris and North Texas.
This year’s OSU-Tulsa game will be in the 918. The teams last met in Tulsa in 2024, where Oklahoma State won 45-10. That’s OSU’s last win against an FBS opponent.
Personally, in a world where players are rarely in one spot for too long it, I like a little bit of harmless trash talk to add further intrigue to a game and provide some storylines. Now we’ll have to wait and see if Lamb and Co. can back up.
