Oklahoma State Releases Spring Practice Schedule, Spring Game Set for April 18
The first spring of the Morris Era is almost here.
Spring has sprung on the Eric Morris Era of Oklahoma State football … well, it’s about to, at least.
Oklahoma State announced its spring schedule on Tuesday, the first set of practices since Morris took over as the Cowboys’ coach. The festivities start March 9 for their opening practice and close on April 18 with a spring game.

Morris made note of the spring game at his most recent media availability, but now the Is are dotted and the Ts are crossed. The Cowboys will also scrimmage the week before that spring game — the same day as the Boys From Oklahoma concert.
“Obviously we won’t be able to use Boone Pickens for that scrimmage (on April 11),” Morris said. “Plan on having a spring game I think on the 18th. So, a bunch of information to come out on that stuff. But we want to be physical. We want you guys to be able to come in there and see us. Obviously I’m not a big secrets guy. We don’t do a ton, we gameplan quite a bit, and so we’ll be pretty vanilla, just trying to get really good at fundamentals and our base things during the course of this spring. So, not all of (the practices) will be open, but there will be great opportunities for people to come out and see us build and get behind us.”
The Cowboys’ spring game took a few forms under longtime coach Mike Gundy. Last year’s spring game was more traditional. The two years before that, OSU didn’t have a spring game with ongoing renovations in Boone Pickens Stadium. There have also been years where it was essentially an open practice in BPS.
Have your rosters handy for this year’s spring game, as the Pokes will introduce 81 new players to the fanbase.
