Hoops Preview: TV Info, Team Stats and Projected Lineups for the Cowgirls’ Big 12 Tournament

The Cowgirls finished the regular season strong, winning four of their last five, to secure a 4 seed in the Big 12 Championship bracket.

That means they get the first two days to rest up and observe as the lower seeds beat each other up. The Cowgirls get started on Friday and will, hopefully, have the legs and shooters to move deep into the weekend.

OSU brought a handful of all-conference honorees to Kansas City as four members of Jacie Hoyt’s squad earned All-Big 12 nods. Stailee Heard was named to the league’s second team and leading scorer Micah Gray to the third team. Achol Akot and Jayden Wooten were both All-Big 12 honorable mentions

First up, the Cowgirls will face the winner of Texas Tech and Kansas State in the 5/12 matchup which takes place at 11 a.m. Thursday. Defying seeds and proving just how tough a league it is, OSU beat the 5th-seeded Red Raiders 75-65 on Valentine’s Day in GIA after falling to the 12th-seeded Wildcats 70-61 four days prior in Manhattan. Now they’ll face one of the two on neutral site.

In the two previous years under Hoyt, OSU is 1-2 in the Big 12 Tournament.
