Eric Morris obviously has deep ties to West Texas, so it would make sense that if one of his old college teammates had a son capable of playing at the Power Conference level, he’d offer him. That former teammate just so happens to be funding a lot of what Texas Tech is doing.

Carson Campbell, an offensive line prospect in the 2029 class, announced an Oklahoma State offer this past weekend. Carson is the son of Texas Tech megadonor and board of regents chair Cody Campbell. The offer came after Carson took an unofficial visit to Stillwater on Saturday.

Carson plays at All Saints Episcopal in Fort Worth and has already garnered offers to the likes of Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Baylor, SMU, TCU and others.

All Saints Episcopal went a perfect 14-0 in Campbell’s freshman season, winning a TAPPS Division-II state title. Campbell primarily played at left guard, where he was steamrolling defenders despite his youth.

Rosters from the early 2000s are a little tricky to pin down in the modern age, but from the best I can tell, Morris and Cody had a year of overlap in their playing days — 2004. Both guys have been involved with Texas Tech and the program since, as well.

It feels like getting Carson away from Lubbock’s clutches would be tough, but you can’t knock Morris for giving it a shot.
