The Cowboys are getting hot at the right time.

No. 25 Oklahoma State defeated No. 16 Arizona State 13-6 on Saturday to secure the Cowboys’ third-straight Big 12 series victory following a dramatic rally win on Friday night.

A day after a six-run ninth inning gave them the win, a six-run fourth put the Cowboys in control on the way to their fifth conference series win.

Trailing 3-2 after three, Colin Brueggemann drilled his 13th homer of the year, a two-run bomb, to give the Cowboys the lead.

Then Alex Conover and Brock Thompson added solo home runs before Aidan Meola capped the inning with his own two-run moonshot.

The Cowboys held the Sun Devils off with three more in the eighth and two in the ninth to cruise to a 13-6 win. Stormy Rhodes earned the win pitching five innings and allowing 10 hits and three runs. He walked two and struck out two.

With the win, OSU improves to 33-17 and 16-10 in conference play. They’ll get the chance for the sweep at 3 p.m. Sunday in Phoenix.

The Cowboys have now won seven-straight Big 12 games and nine of their last 10 overall. They currently rank fourth in the conference standings.

After this series concludes, the Pokes have a midweek matchup at Oral Roberts before closing out the regular season with a home series against Arizona starting Thursday before the Big 12 Tournament commences May 20 at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona.
