There were large chunks of this softball season where Ruby Meylan had the Cowgirls firmly on her back.

Oklahoma State’s season and Meylan’s career came to an end this weekend with the Cowgirls going 0-2 in the Lincoln Super Regional. Meylan, a two-time All-American in two seasons in Stillwater, will go down as an all-time Cowgirl.

She shared this message via her X account on Sunday:

“I don’t really know what to say other than thank you,” Meylan wrote. “Thank you to Oklahoma State University. Thank you to Coach G (Gajewski), Carrie (Eberle Parker), (Vanessa) Shippy and Bergy (Greg Bergeron). Thank you to my teammates. Thank you to our fans. Thank you to Stillwater.

“I could not be more thankful for my two years spent here. The best two years of my life. I made the most incredible memories, found my best friends, and met the love of my life. All while doing what I love.

“I’m overwhelmed with so much joy and so much sadness. I never wanted this career of mine to come to an end, but I can proudly say I gave this program everything I have. The tank is emptied.”

Despite being in orange and black for only two seasons after transferring from Washington, Meylan’s name is littered throughout the Cowgirl record book.

Here’s a look at some of the major lists she’s on.

Pitching Appearances (Season): T4th

Meylan stepped in the circle 45 times this past season, more than any Cowgirl since 2014 (Simone Freeman), meaning no Gajewksi Era pitcher has more appearances in a single season.

After making 43 appearances last season, Meylan joins Jessica Hoppock (2004 and 2006) and Kat Espinosa (2013 and 2011) as the only three Cowgirls with two seasons in the top 10 of OSU’s season pitching appearances list.

Pitching Wins (Season): 2nd

Meylan went 29-9 in 2026. The only OSU pitcher with more wins in a season was Melanie Roche (32) back in 1992.

That means this season saw Meylan win more games than all-time OSU arms Lexi Kilfoyl, Carrie Eberle, Lauren Bay, Michelle Smith, Sam Show and Kelly Maxwell ever did across one season.

Innings Pitched (Season): 6th

It was rare Gajewski would get out of a news conference this season without fielding a question of Meylan’s workload, and here’s why.

The 244 2/3 innings Meylan pitched this season are the most a Cowgirl has thrown in one campaign since Freeman threw 249 in 2014.

The 209 innings Meylan threw last season now rank 17th in program history. The next-closest Gajewski Era pitcher on that list is Show throwing 200 1/3 innings in 2019.

Winning Percentage (Career): 11th

Meylan finishes her OSU career with a record of 50-19. That .725 winning percentage ranks 11th all-time (among pitchers with at least 25 decisions) and puts her right among some of the all-time greats of the Gajewski Era:

1. Eberle (.878)
3. Kilfoyl (.808)
9. Maxwell (.763)
11. Meylan (.725)
14. Show (.688)

Strikeouts (Career): 10th

Again, only two seasons and Meylan is in the Top 10 in terms of career strikeouts.

She struck out 458 batters in her two years in orange, which is the second-most among Gajewski Era pitchers, trailing only Maxwell (746).
