One of the best softball players in the state of Oklahoma over the last two years will make her pro debut with OKC.

Former Oklahoma State ace Ruby Meylan was named to the reserve pool for the AUSL franchise OKC Spark.

The AUSL’s reserve pool allows teams to fill roster spots when necessary due to injuries or absences. It also gives the players the opportunity to be called up and to earn full-time roster spots.

Meylan earned the opportunity after an impressive career which included two seasons at Washington before spending the last two in Stillwater. The three-time All-American was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and boasted the most wins of any OSU pitcher (29) since 1993.

Despite spending just two seasons at Oklahoma State, Meylan finished 10th in career strikeouts (458), and her career winning percentage of .725 ranks 11th in program history.

The Spark kick off a three-game series against the Texas Volts at home starting Tuesday night.
