OSU Bullets

• Former Oklahoma State football coach Bob Simmons died this week. As someone who was too young to really remember his OSU teams, I had a good time going back and researching Simmons’ top five wins. [PFB]

Eric Bailey wrote an excellent story on Simmons, which includes a Chris’ University Spirit reference. [Tulsa World]

Chris Norris, a longtime OSU fan, owned Chris’ University Sprit during that time. His apparel shop couldn’t keep up with the merchandise orders during the month leading up to the [the 1997 bowl game against Purdue]. — Eric Bailey in the Tulsa World.

OSU also released a nice piece on Simmons with quotes from R.W. McQuarters, strength coach Gary Calcagno and Kenyatta Wright. [okstate]

• All sorts of OSU athletes picked up All-America honors Wednesday. From baseball, Kollin Ritchie and Aidan Meola were honored. Cowgirl golfer Marta Silchenko became an All-American, and Cowboy golfers Preston Stout, Ethan Fang and Eric lee also picked up honors.


Non-OSU Bullets

• The New York Knicks overcame a 29-point deficit to take Game 4 of the NBA Finals last night and take a 3-1 lead in the series. OG Anunoby had a tip-in with 1.2 seconds to play to win it.

• It’s World Cup day. Here’s one reason to support each of the 48 teams. [CBS Sports]
