Daily Bullets (Aug. 6): Reports from First Day in Fall Camp

OSU Bullets

• Three position battles for fall camp for the Cowboys (PFB)

• Talented redshirt freshman Carl’veon Young switched from linebacker to defensive end in fall camp (PokesReport)

• Forgot to highlight this earlier in the week – Carson’s interview with Bill Haisten was/always is a must listen, great stuff (PFB)

• Eric Morris highlighted this receiver when talking about the first day of practice (yesterday) – Illinois transfer Justin Bowick. 

“I think Justin Bowick is a guy that has a skillset to play this game for a long time, has the length and speed,” Morris said. “I think he had our fastest timed 10-meter dash this summer at 6-foot-5, so a guy that is looking like a 4.4, 4.3 guy at that size is a guy I’m super excited about.” [PFB]

• Gosh, what a big difference during those four tenures of quarterbacks. Spencer Sanders was talented, but the Jim Knowles defense and an NFL running back and receiver feel more the cause for those 30+ wins than his play. 

Going back to 2005, Oklahoma State is 111-36 (75.5%) with these four fellas at starting QB:

Zac Robinson 24-13
Brandon Weeden 24-3
Mason Rudolph 32-9
Spencer Sanders 31-11

With anybody else, the record is 59-63 (48.3%).
