Dan Lanning already picked up one W in Boone Pickens Stadium, and the Cowboys will hope that’s the last he gets Saturday.

The folks at College GameDay interviewed Lanning as he was on the field inside Boone Pickens Stadium, and it turned into a bet as to whether Lanning could hit the cross bar with the football he had.

It’s something Pat McAfee has done in the past with these on-field interviews. McAfee ended up offering Lanning $500,000 to the Sam Day Foundation, which funds childhood cancer research, if Lanning could hit the crossbar from the 10-yard line. Lanning initially missed.

But he got another shot, this time moving back to the 15-yard line, where he hit the crossbar on the west side of Boone Pickens Stadium.

McAfee ended up in a surrender cobra, having just seen $500,000 leave his bank account, but at least it’s going to a good cause. Lanning also pledged $50,000 to the Sam Day Foundation.

Lanning and his Ducks play Oklahoma State at 11 a.m. Saturday on ESPN.
