OSU’s coaches were making their final preparations for the a primetime road matchup when some good news was announced.

Keilan Neal, a 2027 defensive line prospect, shared the news of his commitment to the Cowboys on Saturday afternoon, via his X account.

Neal hails from Franklin Road Academy in Nashville, Tenn. He’s a 6-foot-2, 280-pound tackle who play on the interior of both the offensive and defensive lines as a prep. He finished 2025 with 65 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and eight sacks. He even scored a 29-yard touchdown the one time he handled the football.

The Cowboys like versatility and Neal certainly qualifies. He’s taken part in track and field and baseball at the varsity level.

OSU is the only school that likes talent and versatility. Neal chose the Pokes over a list of 20 total offers that include fellow Big 12 rivals Kansas State, West Virginia, Iowa State, as well as other Power Four schools like UNC and Maryland.

Neal is a three-star prosect according to 247Sports and the No. 79 DL prospect in the nation. He’s ranked as the No. 25 overall player in Tennessee. Rivals ranks him 91st among D-linemen and 42nd in the state.

This makes for the No. 13 commitment for the Cowboys’ 2027 recruiting class and the second defensive lineman, joining three-star edge rusher. His pledge brings the Cowboys to No. 74 in team recruiting ranking which still ranks at just 13th in the Big 12.
