The Big 12 wasn’t quite as topsy-turvy as it was last week, but there were still a handful of results (like OSU’s) that made you raise an eyebrow.

Here’s a look around the league from the week that was.

Tech Outlasts Arizona

The Wildcats were lurking in the Big 12 title picture and had a 17-10 lead at the half in Lubbock, but then it all came crashing down.

Tech came back and beat Arizona 34-26 in a game the Red Raiders started Thomas Castellanos at quarterback. Castellanos wasn’t super efficient in the passing game, completing just 46% of his passes for 144 yards and two TDs. But he didn’t throw any picks and he added another 117 yards and a score on the ground.

Arizona mustered only a field goal in the fourth quarter during its failed comeback attempt.

It was a nice win for Tech, a team that was embarrassed in Cincinnati last week

Colorado Wins

The Buffs hadn’t won since Sept. 12 … but then Saturday happened.

Colorado led 21-14 late in the fourth before the Blake Barnett-led Wildcats squeaked a pass just across the goal line with virtually no time left to force OT.

It felt like it might just not be meant to be for the Buffs, but the Colorado defense forced a field goal to start OT before Isaac Wilson hit Charlie Williams for a game-winning 11-yard TD, marking Colorado’s first Big 12 win of the season.

Baylor Gets Interim Coach Buff

Baylor parted ways with Dave Aranda last week, and this week, the Bears beat the crud out of UCF (on Space Day, no less) to the tune of a 41-9 win.

DJ Lagway needed just 25 passes for throw for 319 yards and four touchdowns.

Meanwhile the Knights came back to earth after their big win against BYU. UCF lost the turnover battle 2-0 and mustered just 281 yards of total offense to Baylor’s 503.

It was a shellacking of epic proportion by the team that it felt was trending down against a team trending up. That’s the Big 12.
