Daily Bullets (Nov. 4): Pokes Flip Another, OSU’s Gundy Era Defense Comparison

• The Pokes flipped an offensive line commit from TCU yesterday (PFB)

• Who will win the Fields Bowl on Saturday? (PFB)

• Bill Haisten found a spot-on comparison for this Cowboy defense – the 2007 Cowboy defense.

In 2007, OSU blew a 21-point, fourth-quarter lead and lost 38-35 to Texas at Boone Pickens Stadium. In Norman, OU rocked for 307 rushing yards in a 49-17 Bedlam blowout.

The 2007 Cowboys were 103rd nationally in total defense.

In advance of Saturday’s noon challenge at Kansas State, the 2026 Cowboys are No. 3 nationally in scoring, No. 3 nationally in passing yards and No. 3 nationally in total offense.

Total defense? The 2026 Cowboys look a lot like the 2007 Cowboys. The 2026 defense is 103rd nationally in yards allowed. [TulsaWorld]
