Cowboys a Contender to Land UCLA Transfer
Oklahoma State has been the Fred Hoiberg of college football regarding transfers in recent years. Tyler Patmon, Josh Furman, Michael Hunter, and recent transfer Derrick Moncrief are several players who joined OSU via transfer. It appears that list could be expanding soon.
Robert Allen of gopokes.com reports that former five-star cornerback Priest Willis, who is transferring out of UCLA, will make a visit to Stillwater before the end of the month. Getting Willis on campus is a huge first step, and getting Willis to commit for 2016 would do wonders for the defensive backfield. Michael Hunter will exhaust his eligibility after this year, while Kevin Peterson could potentially enter the NFL draft after next season. The only predicted mainstays at cornerback appears to be soon to be sophomore Ramon Richards and Ashton Lampkin, who was granted a medical hardship and will be eligible for two more seasons.
Willis played all 13 games last season for UCLA, and is a former Under Armour All-American who was ranked as the No. 39 overall prospect in the 2013 recruiting class.
Just like recent Auburn transfer Derrick Moncrief who has enrolled at OSU, both would be required to sit out one year and would be eligible to play in 2016. Willis would have two years eligibility remaining.
Take a look at his highlights from 2013, where he was ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Arizona and No. 5 cornerback in the nation.
