Central Michigan Game Superlatives
Winners: John Bonamego and his squad. In his debut as Central Michigan’s head coach, his Chippewas held the Cowboys to just 24 points and played a very inspired game. For a team that was picked to finish fifth in the West division of the MAC, they came out Ostman blazing and gave us a run for their money.
Losers: The play calling in general. I thought it was a bit too conservative. Rather than playing to win, they called plays to not lose the game. It was a clean game (no turnovers, four penalties), but without taking chances the offense seems closed off. With one of the deepest receiving cores in the league, I would have liked to see them fling it around a little more.
Best play: Just when the Cowboys needed an answer, Rudolph delivered big time with a touchdown scamper to put his squad up by 4.

Worst play: Our field goal attempts weren’t ideal.
Quote of the game: “Not quite Zac Robinson,” Rudolph said postgame. “I’m trying to get it done however I can.”
Play that didn’t get enough attention: The Chris Carson hurdle. That was his 20th carry of the night, and he still looked fresh as ever.
Stat of the game: No turnovers, four penalties.
GIF of the game: Is there any question?
