Mahan Defeats Rory in The Desert

Surely you’ve read a recap or 20 by now so I’ll spare you the synopsis, however, I did have a few thoughts (surprise!) from Mahan’s big match play W against golf’s media darling of the moment.
1. The NBC announcers (Nick Faldo, Johnny Miller, Brandel Chamblee and Dan Hicks) were practically begging Rory to win yesterday. I understand it, because as much as any sport out there golf’s stars drive golf’s audience, but they were wildly overt with their overtures to the point that you thought that Rory was blowing the tournament rather than Mahan winning it.
2. What do I have to do to get rid of the flat bill golf hat? Is there an amount of money I have to raise? Ping/Puma employee I have to talk to? What will it take? I’ll do anything short of committing a crime.
3. Beating Zach Johnson, Y.E. Yang, Steve Stricker, Matt Kuchar, Mark Wilson and McIlroy in order? Yeah, you deserve to win the tournament.
4. Mahan’s last three finishes at Augusta: Cut, T8, T10. I say he wins there in the next three years.
5. Do OSU fans realize how much better Mahan is than Fowler? Or do they not care?
