The Running Game has a long ways to go

The lack of running game was bound to catch up with this team sooner or later, and it came back to bite them on Saturday in a big way.

Despite putting up 35 points and forcing 3 turnovers at Boone Pickens Stadium, the Cowboys weren’t able to overcome their biggest weakness in the running game.

Its been well documented, but the Cowboys finished the GAME with only 8 total rushing yards, compared to Baylors 304 rushing yards.

The offensive line has done a decent job this season in pass protection but has struggled in rushing offense. But on Saturday, the offensive line struggled in both facets giving up 6 sacks and not allowing Rudolph time to sit back and drop seeds.

11 games in to the season, it’s much too late for the offensive line to gel together. Yurcich has mostly drawn praise this season for seemingly making something out of nothing and running with smoke and mirrors. I would expect most of the tricks in his hat to come out this week if they have any chance to overcome such a glaring weakness against an Oklahoma team with a very stout defensive front.
