Joe Wickline is Reportedly Out at Texas

If Joe Wickline wants the money Mike Holder allegedly owes him, maybe he should come back to Stillwater to earn for it. I’m kidding, of course, that ship has sailed, wrecked and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. But Wickline is reportedly out in Austin as Texas (allegedly) hires Tulsa’s offensive coordinator (because TCU’s turned them down!)

I say “allegedly” because Kelly Hines is reporting that it’s not actually true.

But Texas’ 247 site says that it is. Anyway, I’m not sure if the truth of Gilbert being hired matters to Wickline being canned. Here’s 247.

When he starts at Texas, Gilbert will likely have to hire at least two assistant coaches as Horns247 has been told by multiple sources that assistant head coach for offense/quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson, offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Joe Wickline and running backs coach Tommie Robinson will not be retained in their current roles.

So there you go. Bring back Wickline? I wouldn’t be opposed. But Gundy would never ever ever do it.
