RESULTS: 75 Percent of OSU Fans Think Cornelius Will Be QB2
The poll results are in and over 75 percent of you think Taylor Cornelius will be QB2 in 2016. Related: I agree with over 75 percent of you although I think this could (and will) be sort of a moving proposition. It could change in early August or the definition of QB2 could change altogether as the season rolls on.
That is, Cornelius could be QB2 if Mason Rudolph gets ——-, but John Kolar might actually play more in running packages etc. (as many of you pointed out in the comments below).
Here are the poll results. Nyc Burns actually got the second-most votes.
And the comments …
Mark:Â Wudtee is probably the most flashy – everyone is hyped by his recruitment, but I can’t see Gundy giving him the reins without even a spring semester with the team instead of someone who’s been around the offense for a while now.
Anonymous:Â Anyone else think there’s a legitimate chance that Kolar or Wudtee gets a JW-like package, but isn’t the true back-up that would replace Rudolph if an injury occurred?
Big D:Â You can tell by how non committal Gundy was about Cornelius after the spring game, and what he said about Kolar running for 100 yards in scrimmages at practice that he has ideas already about using Kolar like Walsh. Im cool with that.
Darth:Â Seems like there might be a difference between “ok we’re up by fifty go wrap up this game” backup QB and “midseason injury” backup. Garbage time play may be viewed by Gundy & Co. as more dangerous than beneficial. Also he may be a “change of pace back” type of QBÂ a la JW. So sure, play The Landbaron.
It’s Oil Baron, but yes.
