Marcus Smart Named to USA Select Team Roster
Marcus Smart is one of twenty-five players named to the USA Select Team, which will train with the U.S. mens basketball team July 18-21 in Las Vegas.
The team will be coached by Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich.
Nineteen other NBA players help fill the 25-man roster, and five likely-to-be lottery picks: Malcolm Brogdon, Kris Dunn, Brandon Ingram, Denzel Valentine, and Brice Johnson.
Former USA Select Team Members include Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, Kevin Durant, Lamarcus Aldridge, and many others. Although the Select Team obviously doesn’t participate in the Olympics, they will be the Pre-Olympic “tune up” matchup that helps prepare the USA team.
