Bowl Projections: OSU-LSU In The 2017 Sugar Bowl Would Be Spectacular
You know what I was thinking today? I was thinking, “you know what, it’s August 11, and I could really use some 2017 bowl projections to whet my appetite for this upcoming season!”
No, I wasn’t thinking that, but other people were. CBS Sports (hey guys!) released its bowl projections for the 2016-17 bowl season, and they have us getting one of my dream non-conference matchups for the Cowboys.
We’re going to look at and update these much the same way we have with preseason rankings. As each outlet rolls out its projections/rankings we will post them and might even keep track throughout the entire season like this. Here’s a look at a variety of preseason rankings, by the way.
| CBS Sports | SB Nation | ESPN | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Preseason | Sugar Bowl vs. LSU | Â Texas Bowl vs. Arkansas | Â N/A |
Two straight strips to the Sugar Bowl and this one against Les Miles on January 2. How good would that be? In fact, sign me up for this right now. This seems like OSU’s ceiling barring some fortuitous string of injury luck somewhere along the way.
Other CBS Sports BCS games (or whatever) predictions include:
- Ohio State-Stanford in the Rose
- Iowa-Houston in the Cotton
- Florida State-Georgia in the Orange
- OU-Notre Dame in the playoffs
- Clemson-Alabama in the playoffs
That’s a postseason I would love for OSU to be a part of.
