Grading The Uniforms: All Black Is King
I will be grading OSU’s uniforms each week using a criteria consisting of five categories.
Four of the five categories are on a scale of 1-5. The helmet will have its own rating. Aesthetics will be a rating of the flow of the uniform as a whole. The intimidation factor will simply be how intimidating the uniform looks. The accessories will be a rating of the gloves, socks, shoes, and sleeves. Additionally, the Cowboys get a point for winning. A perfect score is 21 points for the GOAT.
Helmet (5)
This was the sharpest helmet so far this year and we’re only five games into the season. Darren Rovell showed some love on Twitter.
I think the best thing about this is that it was tweeted after he posted a photo of Oregon’s helmet for the night and the OSU helmet got nearly twice as many retweets.
Aesthetics (5)
I thought it was awesome when Oklahoma State came out with black jerseys in 2009. I thought the white numbers looked great. Then came the orange numbers in 2011 and it changed the game. I can understand the inclination to want to go back to white numbers after seeing how great White-Black-White looks, but I’m glad they stuck with orange on the new threads because the numbers really pop. This is especially true when the Pokes wear all black. This was a great game for a block out black out.
Intimidation (5)
All black is king. Nothing can beat it. These uniforms reflect that.

It’s what you’d expect. All black everything.
Win (1)
Texas had two weeks to prepare for this game. They rushed for more than 300 yards. The Cowboys are a resilient group of men. Pokes win 49-31.
