Hill leads the team in rushing with 943 yards on 5.5 yards per carry. He also has five rushing touchdowns in 11 games.
Thomas, the Cowboys’ all-time leading rusher (5,001 yards) held the previous record at OSU for a true freshman at 843 yards. The overall freshman record is 961 yards held by redshirt freshman Mike Hamilton back in 2005.
Hill should have every chance to pass that mark in Norman and become the first freshman in OSU history to get to 1,000 yards on December 3 as the Cowboys play the Sooners for the de facto Big 12 title.
