Who jumped up?
There weren’t any huge jumps towards the top of the standings. But with several top teams being upset, there was an incremental shift up. Oklahoma State remained at 14 in the coaches poll and moved up to 14 according to AP voters. We saw TCU move up 6/7 in either poll after its win over West Virginia. NC State saw a nice bump after it knocked Louisville out of the top 25. Washington State and Miami are into the top 10. Michigan State, Texas Tech, Navy and Stanford crept into the top 25 after wins this weekend.
By the way, if you’re an Oklahoma State fan, you should be pro-Horned Frog the rest of the way. If both teams were to somehow find a way to win out, you’re looking at a top-5 TCU team that the Cowboys should have beaten at home. That would provide a winnable, resume-boosting Big 12 title game. That’s a big if and we’ve got a long ways to go before that would possibly matter.
Who dropped off?
The Sooners dropped nine spots in both polls after they were upset at home by Iowa State on Saturday. Michigan suffered a similar fate after its loss to then unranked Michigan State.
West Virginia dropped out of the top 25 after its second loss of the year as well as Florida who joined recent dropout, LSU, who it lost to on Saturday. Louisville is out after its loss to NC State.
Conclusion
Here’s a look at where OSU has been in each poll.
