Freshman DE Brock Martin Undergoes Season-Ending Shoulder Surgery
True freshman defensive end Brock Martin, a former Oologah High School standout in both wrestling and football, underwent season-ending surgery earlier this week. He had yet to compete in a game this season.
“I’m doing well after surgery,” Martin said on Twitter. “I thank God for all my setbacks, because of Him able to get back.”
According to a source, Martin had shoulder surgery to repair his labrum — a lingering injury that dates back to his high school days.
Because Martin had not appeared in a game this season, the surgery makes redshirting for the standout pass-rusher a certainty in 2017.
