A Look at OSU’s Recent History with Preseason AP Poll

Published

on

The preseason AP Poll was released Monday, and for the fourth time in the past 10 season, the Cowboys will start the season unranked.

The last time Oklahoma State started the season outside of the AP’s Top 25 was 2015, but by Week 2, the Cowboys were ranked 25th and finished the year 20th. It was the same year OSU started 10-0 before losing its final three.

The Cowboys have finished the year outside of the AP Poll only three times since 2009, with 2014 being the most recent example. Despite starting in the Top 10 only three times since 2009, the Cowboys have climbed into the Top 10 in seven of those seasons at some point.

Here’s a look at the Cowboys’ interactions with the AP Poll in the past 10 seasons:

2016 21 11 10 (Week 12)
