Akron Receiver Who Isn’t Afraid to Get Aggressive in Run Support Announces OSU Offer
Polk had eight touchdown catches in 2025 and graded out well as a run blocker.
STILLWATER — Akron receiver Israel Polk announced an offer from Oklahoma State on Friday morning.
Polk led all Akron receivers in snaps (580) this season likely because of his support as a run blocker. Pro Football Focus graded him out with a 65.2 as a run blocker, putting him fifth among regular contributors on the team behind only offensive linemen.
For context, only six players finished with a better run-blocking grade on OSU’s team in 2025 and five of them had less than half of Polk’s experience as a run blocker this fall.
Polk finished the season with 33 receptions, 525 yards and eight touchdowns. The Zips No. 2 scorer finished with five receiving touchdowns and no one else on the team had more than two.
Polk spent the vast majority of his time out wide (87% of snaps). Among Zips with at least 10 targets, he led the way averaging 13.9 yards per average depth of target.
He should have two years of eligibility left. He redshirted while at Pittsburgh in 2023 while catching one pass for 14 yards. In 2024, he started seven games and rotated in three other times while finishing with 24 receptions for 201 yards.
