Anderson, Harris and Pena Did Not Make Trip to Marquette
A trio of Pokes will be missing from Boynton’s bench Tuesday evening.
The Cowboys will be without Avery Anderson, Chris Harris and Montreal Pena in their Big 12/Big East Battle game against Marquette on Tuesday evening, according to Dave Hunziker.
This will be the second game Harris has missed this season, and Pena hasn’t been available for any of OSU’s opening three contests.
Anderson, a sophomore point guard, has played 21 minutes a game in OSU’s first two, where he averaged eight points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
A sophomore, Harris played in 22 games, starting three, as a freshman last season before an ACL tear ended his year.
Harris played seven minutes in OSU’s season-opening win against UT-Arlington, where he scored four points and recorded a steal. He had an awkward fall in that game and limped off the floor, but it wasn’t initially thought to be anything serious.
A freshman, Pena has been out this season for “personal reasons.” After OSU’s win against Texas Southern on Saturday, coach Mike Boynton said there isn’t a timetable on when he would be available.
On Monday, OSU Athletics put out its weekly release of active COVID-19 cases, showing there was one active case on the basketball team.
OSU and Marquette tip off at 6 p.m. Tuesday from the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
