Ashton Lampkin really got the comeback going in the second half as he recovered a fumble Tre Flowers forced after which OSU scored to make it 31-28 and the comeback was on at Boone Pickens Stadium. Lampkin discussed what the defense was thinking in the second half.

“We had a lot of adversity,” said Lampkin. “Just to come back and get that win is big. [The mindset in the second half was] don’t let ’em score. Don’t let ’em get on the board and give our offense as many opportunities as they need to get points on the board.”

They certainly did that as this is how ISU ended the game (they didn’t score over the final 20+ minutes):

“I feel like we grew from this win,” added Lampkin. “It’s the same thing as happened last year. I think we grew a lot, not getting down on ourselves no matter what the score is. As long as you have time on that clock, there’s time to win.”
