Barry Sanders “Still Hurting” from Central Michigan Loss

Oklahoma State fans across the country were shocked following a week 2 loss to the Central Michigan Chippewas – a game that ended in a hail mary-lateral that resulted from a wrongly awarded untimed down.

Even the legendary Barry Sanders is still reeling from the outcome.

“I’m still hurting from that one,” Sanders told the Detroit Free Press. “If it were any other team from somewhere else – outside of the state of Michigan – I’d still be angry.”

As you well know, Barry Sanders won the Heisman trophy for Oklahoma State in 1988, and later went on to play in the NFL for the Detroit Lions from 1989 to 1998 and finished his career as a 10-time Pro Bowler and now Hall of Famer.

With his son suiting up this season for OSU, he clearly has more motivation to watch his alma mater this season more than others.

“I obviously watched the game, and CMU played a good game that day,” Sanders said. “It was a tough loss.”
