Big 12 Recruiting Update: OSU Has Opportunity to Make Big Leap
OSU has a shot to move significantly up the rankings this week.
Good news is on the way for Oklahoma State.
Mike Gundy tweeted last week his classic “let’s ride!” message on Twitter, alluding to an imminent commitment or commitments. That good news has not (yet) materialized, but we’ve been told that it should come down the pike as early as Wednesday.
It will be a needed injection of momentum for OSU on the recruiting trail. The Pokes rank ninth in the Big 12 as of now and 69th nationally, with just five commitments. Here’s an update on where they stand in the league:
On a per-commitment average, it’s slightly more rosy, however. Because OSU has the second-fewest commitments in the league, the rankings skew more towards quantity than quality, so a per-commitment average is a better indicator for how OSU truly sits and will finish. In that category, for instance, they rank ahead of Baylor and Iowa State, which have a combined 29 commitments already.
RANK | TEAM | AVG. |
---|---|---|
1 | Oklahoma | 92.14 |
2 | Texas | 91.46 |
3 | West Virginia | 87.72 |
4 | Kansas State | 87.11 |
5 | Texas Tech | 86.92 |
6 | Oklahoma State | 86.57 |
7 | Baylor | 86.21 |
8 | TCU | 85.75 |
9 | Kansas | 84.36 |
10 | Iowa State | 84.33 |
OSU sits in a really good spot with in-state defensive lineman Aden Kelley in addition to twin receivers Bryson and Blaine Green, from Allen, Texas. All three are said to be making their decisions soon.
