Bryce Thompson Drops 60 Points over First Two Starts for OKC Blue
The native Oklahoman shows out in his first two career starts.
Bryce Thompson is getting a shot in the G League and he’s putting up some big numbers early.
Folks in Oklahoma have known Thompson could fill it up for some time, which is probably one reason the OKC Blue, the Thunder’s G League affiliate, claimed him earlier this month.
The former Oklahoma State guard made his first professional starts on Tuesday and Wednesday, and he put up 60 total points.
In four games with the Blue this season, Thompson is averaging 23.3 points and shooting 45.1% from the field and 35.7% from 3. He’s also grabbed 5.3 rebounds per game and dished out 2.8 assists. While starting the last two, his minutes and production has increased.
On Tuesday, Thompson dropped a career-high 33 points on 14-of-24 shooting (a career high in makes) in OKC’s overtime win over his former team, the Valley Suns.

After an Oklahoma State career hampered by multiple injuries, Thompson went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft and was selected by the Valley Suns. But he was placed on waivers after just one scoreless game. He played one more game for the Austin Spurs, scoring 11 points in 27 minutes off the bench before he was claimed by OKC.
Thompson and the Blue will have a chance to cool off (hopefully not too much) as they take a week break before hitting the road to face Rip City Remix next Wednesday. The Blue’s games can be streamed on NBAGLeague.com, the NBA G League app or on the team’s YouTube channel.
