Would Wes Lunt be starting at OSU this season? He might not even start at Illinois. (NewsOK)

Gundy: “Confidence builds success, and success brings more success. Our players have been around and have been in the locker room and bowl games and what not. Some of the guys haven’t played at this level, but they were around teams that expected to win. I don’t think there’s any question that that helps.” (USA Today)

Good update on the defensive backs here. (NewsOK)

Interesting stuff on Yurcich here. I agree with Gundy: “We had a couple issues here and there that kept us from being as good as we needed to be, but with his presence we got better on offense. Games 4, 5, 6 he started to get a feel for exactly who we were. I think he grew with the team.” (ESPN)

My guys at CBS ranked the college football landscape and they, too, have FSU No. 1. I’m also disappointed in them for ranking Texas. Unconscionable. (CBS Sports)

Matt Hinton being at Grantland is a very good thing. He takes a smart look at Trevor Knight and Co. here. (Grantland)

On the Big 12 and the Playoff Era: But unlike the early 2000s, the conference flagships won’t have to carry the Big 12 banner alone in the playoff era.

Oklahoma State has won 59 games over the past six years. Kansas State was ranked No. 1 in the polls at one point late in 2012. And Baylor ascended under coach Art Briles, who last season delivered the program its first Big 12 title. (ESPN)

Weeden is the 23rd-ranked backup QB. Get out of here with this behind Jimmy Clausen business. (NFL)
