C.J. Moore Already Planning a Prank That Involves Mike Gundy’s Mullet
C.J. Moore, the crown jewel of Mike Gundy’s 2018 signing class, was asked about his new head coach and a certain hairstyle that’s garnered SportsCenter spots, parody Twitter accounts and plenty of pub.
His answer? He loves it.
“Maybe one night, don’t tell him, but we might prank him, maybe, and like braid it or something,” said Moore. “Something crazy. But I love it. It’s his signature. Everybody loves it.
“There’s a picture in his office where he’s got his shirt off and his mullet looks just really good. I love it.”
Of course Mike Gundy has this picture in his office.

The mullet, the abs, the gold chain and wrestling attire are all rolled together and make up the Mike Gundy character — an historic head coach who’s achievements are only overshadowed but his persona.
“The head coach has long hair, he likes hunting rattlesnakes, he flies in helicopters and he’ll wear a wrestling singlet,” said Gundy. “That’s who we are. This is a non-BS organization.”
Mike Gundy doesn’t take himself too seriously and that resonates with players. Does that alone earn you a four-star wide receiver over schools like Ohio State and Alabama? Probably not. But it’s earned him plenty of fans and it helps him connect to “a bunch of millenials” who can’t keep from looking at their phones.
Hey @CoachGundy, watch out for @daddydimes35 … he's got some interesting plans for your #mullet now that he's coming over to @CowboyFB from @UnionFootball ? pic.twitter.com/BHmrYFGsP8
