Oklahoma State’s first No. 1 overall pick is now its first NBA All-Star starter.

Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham was named a starter for the 2026 NBA All-Star team it was announced on Monday.

Cunningham is enjoying his best season since being drafted first overall in the 2021 NBA Draft.  In 35 games, he’s averaging 25.9 points per game, six rebounds and 9.6 assists. Most importantly, he’s got his Pistons in first place in the Eastern Conference with a 4.5-game lead on No. 2 Boston.

The All-Star starters are selected based on a split vote, 50% fans, 25% NBA players and 25% media. Cunnigham is the first Oklahoma State alum to be selected to an All-Star starter, raising the bar since he was the first Cowboy to become an All-Star last season when he was selected as a reserve player. Cunningham was also named to the All-NBA third team in 2024-25.

The All-Star game will take place at 4 p.m. CST, Sunday Feb. 15 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The Los Angeles Clippers are playing host to the All-Star festivities.
