Rogers, who finished as an All-American twice at Oklahoma State, will be in charge of the following at Air Force.
As the Director of Operations, Rogers’ duties will include general office support, logistics related to the team’s overall function, as well as social media support.
According to the release, Rogers will also be training for his senior level Greco career across the way at the Olympic Training Center.
“I am extremely excited to chase my goals of becoming a World and Olympic Champion in Greco-Roman in Colorado Springs at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center and the Air Force Regional Training Center,” Rogers said. “The phenomenal facilities and word-class coaching staffs at the Training Center and Air Force will greatly impact my growth on the mat, personally and professionally. My wife and I are grateful for the opportunity provided to us by Coach Matt Lindland, USA Wrestling and Air Force Wrestling.”
I’ve said since the US Open this year that I’m a big fan of Chandler Rogers “Going Greco” at the senior level. In just this year, he finished third at the US Open coming off of a full season training in folk-style, won the Pan Am Championships, and also finished as a runner up at the U23 World team trials.
With moving out to the OTC and working directly with Greco coach Matt Linland, Rogers will have a very real opportunity to make World/Olympic teams and have legitimate international success in Greco.
