Chris Carson ran all over the Carolina Panthers defense on Sunday helping to push, pull and drag his Seahawks to a 30-24 win on the road.

Carson showed off his athleticism, speed and power in one huge run early in the game. He broke loose on this opening-drive score with a shimmy in the backfield and then paid it off with a bull-dozing drive into the end zone.

But his second score was even more impressive. Seattle was facing fourth down deep in Carolina territory up two scores in the middle of the fourth quarter. All Carson needed to get was 1 yard, but he could sniff paydirt and wasn’t going to stop until he got there.

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll (president and founder of the Chris Carson Fan Club), said his third-year tailback “did a great job today.” He was especially excited about that second score.

“There wasn’t a sweeter play than going for it on fourth down trying to get the first down and they knocked everyone in the end zone and got us a touchdown on that play,” said Carroll.

Russell Wilson echoed his coach’s sentiment.

“He was making every kind of play, physical, tough against some really good linebackers and some great players on their side,” said Wilson of Carson. “He really showed up and showed out tonight.”

Carson’s 133 rushing yards is a new career high, and his two rushing TDs is his best mark this year and matches a career high.

With the win (and with San Francisco’s loss to Atlanta), the Seahawks stand alone as the No. 1 seed in the NFC at 11-3 with two games remaining in the regular season. The Seahawks own the head-to-head tiebreaker with the 49ers, but those division rivals will face off again in their season finale.
