Video: Chuba Hubbard’s Family Reacts to One of Several Bedlam Touchdowns
Chuba is a big hit on both sides of the border.
While Chuba Hubbard was etching his name into Bedlam lore in Norman, his family was watching with bated breath nearly 3,000 miles north in their Sherwood, Alberta home.
Oklahoma State fans saw glimpses of the freshman running back’s world-class speed early this season, but over the last month Chuba has gone from intriguing prospect to full-blown playmaker and appears to be a future star for the Cowboys.
Starting with the Cowboys’ Homecoming win over No. 6 Texas, Chuba saw his workload increase with 80 yards on nine carries. He followed that up in Waco with 10 carries for 51 yards against Baylor.
But his breakout performance came against Oklahoma in an all-timer of a Bedlam when the Canadian Cannon spelled an injured Justice Hill and shot out of the barrel for 104 yards and a career-high three rushing TDs. He also added 49 yards receiving on five catches.
Local news outlet Global Edmonton was on-site as his family watched one of those TDs.
Gotta love that emotion — and all of that Oklahoma State gear north of the border.
Wouldn’t be where I am today without the people from back home! So thankful ! https://t.co/SmF3ivWc0X
