Cleveland Browns Trade Justin Gilbert to Pittsburgh Steelers
With the hubbub of OSU’s football season opener on Saturday, some big news came for a former Oklahoma State star. Justin Gilbert, selected by the Cleveland Browns as the No. 8 overall pick in the 2014 draft, has been traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It ends a disappointing run in Cleveland for Gilbert, who has struggled mightily with consistency and, frankly, has not progressed like many expected when he was taken in the top 10 two years ago. During his time as a Brown, he started just three games and several times was surpassed on the depth chart by unheralded or undrafted corners who proved to be more reliable in pass coverage.
The highlight of his Browns career, without a doubt came in December of 2014 when Gilbert picked off Andrew Luck and took it back to the house for a pick six:

The Browns received a sixth-round draft pick in 2018 in exchange for the trade.
