Comments Are Back on PFB (Sort of)

When we nixed the comments section on this site a few weeks ago, we heard from a lot of you who were frustrated by that, which is understandable.

After eight years of being able to comment on our articles, poof, that was gone. It felt like you felt like we were erasing your voice, when the reality is that we were trying to do just the opposite. So we listened to your (justifiable) complaints and reasoning even as we moved all of the dialogue on this site into The Chamber, our forum.

We think we found a nice middle ground. Here it is.

Everything we post on the site (like this article you’re reading right now) will also become a thread on our forum. You can check all those threads out right here. If you look below each post on the site, you’ll see a link entitled “Comment in The Chamber.” That link will take you to a thread in The Chamber on that specific post where you can comment. You can also visit The Chamber and click on “PFB Articles.”

Comments on threads will also show up on the article on the main site, which is some nice symmetry even while we keep all the conversation in The Chamber. Here’s the catch: All of your comments will show up in The Chamber, but only comments with multiple likes and replies will show on the site. We think this incentivizes people to comment in a constructive way and not troll incessantly. It’s also easier to monitor The Chamber than the comments section.

So hopefully this is a good place to meet for both you and for us. We always want to hear your feedback and we always want to keep building this place into the best OSU news and community anywhere in the world.
