Hines is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker from Plano, Texas and is the No. 1 ranked linebacker in the 2017 class according to Scout, just two spots ahead of Oklahoma State verbal commit Levi Draper. The two have already spent some time together in Stillwater.

According to Scout, Hines is considering a school with a strong football program as well as a strong business college. Hines was formerly committed to Mississippi State, before backing off his pledge. A lot can change before signing day in a year and a half, but the Cowboys have the potential to add two of the top linebackers in the nation for the 2017 recruiting class in Draper and Hines.
