The Cowboys are one step closer to landing the services of a touted and sought-after bruiser up front.

Evan Goodwin, a 2026 offensive tackle from Bauxite, Arkansas, has narrowed his list of schools down to four and the Pokes made the cut.

The 6-foot-7, 325-pound pancake-maker has moved quickly up in recruiting rankings thanks to an enticing blend of size, physicality and athleticism.

Goodwin is a consensus four-star prospect and ranked Top 3 from his state, according to 247 Sports, ESPN, Rivals and On3. 247 currently has him tabbed as the No. 16 offensive tackle in the 2026 class.

He narrowed down the list of OSU, Missouri, Mississippi State and SMU from an offer sheet containing 25 programs which also includes the likes of Notre Dame, Florida State, LSU and Oklahoma.

OSU’s 2026 class ranks 30th nationally, according to 247, and seventh in the Big 12. It includes seven commits, as of writing, with one offensive lineman, in-state OT Aiden Martin. If Goodwin were to pledge today, that ranking would go up to 23rd and fifth, respectively.

Take a look at some of what OSU coaches, and so many others, excited about Goodwin.
