OSU took a step back in Year 2, finishing 14-16 but the Cowgirls have already matched that win total this season in what looks to be Hoyt’s best squad yet.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch the Cowgirls this season, it’s a fun brand of basketball. OSU ranks 12th nationally in scoring, averaging 83.1 points per game while also ranking in the Top 15 nationally in field-goal percentage (48.8%) and 3-point percentage (37.9%).
Stailee Heard, Micah Gray and Anna Gret Asi are all averaging double figures. Heard, only a sophomore, has had a dominant start to Big 12 play, averaging 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds through the Cowgirls’ first five conference games.
OSU’s next home game is set for 6:30 p.m. Jan 22 (a Wednesday) against No. 10 TCU.
