Three Thoughts
Softball: Cowgirls 5, Kansas 2
Baseball: Cowboys 11, BYU 5
Three Thoughts
• Still discerning if this is real – broke last night on Twitter that Indiana University’s leading rusher could be committed to Oklahoma State? (X)
Last season in Bloomington, the 6-foot-3, 240-pounder ran for 354 yards and two touchdowns while averaging just under 5.0 yards per run. The year prior, he averaged 6.0 yards per contest.
Howland, who still has two years of eligibility remaining, might be the ideal complementary option to any backfield.
• Bryce Thompson returning is a nice gesture that doesn’t move the needle – some curiosity on if Steve Lutz and Co. can help develop the former McDonald’s All-American – Quion Williams landing at Abilene Christian is what the portal is for – love that the guy gets a chance to be a key player on a team that could win the Southland each year (PFB + PFB)
• There’s a (perceived) gap between Vegas lines and what Oklahoma State fans perceive to be reasonable of this Cowboy Football team.
This article points to the logic from the Oklahoma State fan perspective and this line really pulls it out:
This year, it’s playoffs or bust. Not only are there eight more spots (sort of), but Oklahoma and Texas won’t be competing for the automatic entry that the Big 12 champion gets.
Two Quotes
• It will be a wild ride to see what kind of candidates want to replace Ollie Gordon in a year. Here’s a quote on the situation when OSU landed Arkansas running back AJ Green:
(Mike) Gundy said multiple transfer portal prospects displayed interest in joining OSU in the offseason. However, the reality of joining a running back room highlighted by Gordon, the reigning Doak Walker Award winner, turned many off. Green was the exception.
• Random thought – could Moussa Cisse and Brandon Garrison play at the same time? Would be an enjoyable center position if OSU could swing it.

One Question
• If you could schedule one team for Cowboy Football to play in Europe – who would it be and where would it be in Europe?
Could totally see a promo video of Mike Gundy in a singlet for a game in Athens.

Non-OSU Bullets
• Underestimate SGA at your own peril
• When the walk becomes a crawl (faith-based)
Loved this quote on the Thunder from the above article:
They have built a coherent identity of players who can pass and make quick decisions, enabling them play a turbocharged version of five-out that’s designed less around cashing a bunch of threes and more towards creating the maximum possible number of angles and opportunities for attacks on the basket. If someone doesn’t have an advantage, they give it up quickly, and their level of connective passing is as high as I have ever seen.
Listening.

Seems incredibly easy and trivial.
But very few of us have the ability to just sit back, take in the information, focus on what we’re hearing, and keep listening.
It’s a powerful life skill that gives back so much.
For the lucky few who can actually do it.
